You can use VHD Tool to create VHDs without having the time-consuming wiping of the hard disk space. VHD Tool can also be used to convert and extend existing VHDs.

Usage of VHD Tool’s:

VhdTool.exe /create [/quiet]
VhdTool.exe /convert [/quiet]
VhdTool.exe /extend [/quiet]
